Job Description:

VCA Northwood Animal Hospital in Anderson, IN is expanding its Emergency service and is seeking a Registered or recent graduate Veterinary Technician.
Who We Are:
We are a full-service facility offering Preventative/Routine care, Emergency care, and Hospitalization. In addition to our general Veterinary services, we offer advanced services such as endoscopy, ultrasound, and advanced soft tissue surgeries.

Overall Responsibility: Our Registered Veterinary Technicians provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients. Our Emergency Technicians thrive in a fast-paced service, handle critical case, and enjoy the stimulating caseload.

- Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.

- Venipuncture and IVC placement.

- Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.

- Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.

- Recognize subtle change in clinical status.

- Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.

- Complete estimates, basic record keeping.

- Anesthesia monitoring.

- Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.

- Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

Compensation:

Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.

Schedule: Full-time opportunities available. Schedule is four 10-hour shifts with rotating Saturday's.
