Pay Information $2,302 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3 PM - 3 AM Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cardiovascular ICU nursing License: Current Indiana or compact RN license Certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only) Must-Have: Open-heart recovery experience preferred Description: This is a mixed acuity unit, where nurses have distinct skill sets between intensive care and progressive levels. Patients remain in this unit throughout their cardiovascular stay. Intensive care nurses care for patients right out of the operating room, and then patients are transferred to another area where the progressive level teams prepare them for home or extended care facility placement. The nurse-to-patient ratio on the intensive care side is 1:1 or 1:2. On the step-down side, the ratio is 1:3 or 1:4. Floating to other like units may be required as needed. Dress code consists of scrubs in Caribbean Blue. Orientation consists of mandatory attendance for all three days. A robust orientation will be conducted during the first week. Experience in a level 1 or level 2 facility is preferred.
