Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Fort Wayne, Indiana,

Central Registry - Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7 AM to 7 PM
Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of Level 1, Level
2, or tertiary experience. License: Indiana RN license or compact
RN license (as of 7/1/20) required. Certifications: BLS through AHA
required. Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of MedSurg experience in a
facility with 600 beds. Description: The position involves general
medical and surgical nursing care. The patient population includes
those with chronic illnesses such as COPD, diabetes, CHF, and
end-stage renal disease. The team manages GI issues, including
pancreatitis, bleeding, gastroparesis, and inflammatory bowel
diseases. Care is provided for infections like pneumonia,
cellulitis, sepsis, urinary tract infections, and C. difficile. The
position also involves caring for patients with neurological
issues, including stroke, dementia, and traumatic brain injuries.
Mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and substance
abuse are also part of the patient demographic. Patients may
undergo procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis,
paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries. Nurses are
responsible for assessments, care planning, inter-professional
communication, and utilization of electronic health records.
Required skills include IV therapy management, management of
heparin and insulin drips, and care of chest tubes. The position
involves using equipment such as electronic health record systems,
pyxis machines, and telemetry monitoring. Patient ratios are
typically 1:5-6. The schedule includes three weekend shifts in a
four-week period. Nurses may float to other medical units as
