QUALITY ENGINEER - NE, INGENERAL SUMMARY The Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager or designate. This position is responsible for customer satisfaction and acts as liaison between the customer and the Company. Responsible for maintaining customer and Company quality standards and policies, supporting Manufacturing and other support functions to resolve concerns, driving corrective and preventative actions, and continually improving processes to prevent problems.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Act as the customer contact for all quality issues and represent Company as required to resolve issuesCreation and maintenance of Control Plans, FMEA"s, Flow Diagrams and In-Process Inspection documentationProvide guidance to Production group related to part inspectionAid in gage design reviews and purchase of applicable gagesAssist production with inspection, SPC, gage useParticipate in MRB review and product containment activityLead Problem Solving activities for the timely resolution to internal and external CAR"s and customer quality related issuesLead Corrective and Preventative teams, maintain and track Open Issues LogsCMM Operation and part verification to support Company"s quality system as necessaryPerform weld / assembly validation (cut and etch, push-out, torque, tensile test, etc..) as requiredPerform annual validations / PPAP as requiredPerform routine inspections, dimensional studies, and investigations, as necessaryEnsure proper containment procedures are followed when poor quality is detectedSupport manufacturing when abnormalities occur, solve the problem or escalate upwardEnsure that all abnormalities to the standards are documented, escalated, and resolved while working together with Team Members to improve the standard for better Safety, Quality, and ProductivityProvide support in the absence of the Quality ManagerParticipate in Layered Audit processParticipate in New Product Development as necessarySupport and assist EPC team by providing leadership and basic quality directionSupport Internal/External/Customer audits as requiredCoordinate individual, team and plant improvement activitiesIn addition to performing primary duties, the individual shall provide support where deemed necessary by ManagementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in metrology, industrial, mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering (Or relevant experience)Six Sigma Black Belt preferred Experience:Minimum 5 years manufacturing experienceMinimum 3 years in automotive manufacturingMinimum 5 years cumulative in Quality functions Personal/Technical Skills:Thorough understanding of Control Plans, FMEA"s, Flow Diagrams and In-Process InspectionThorough knowledge of GD&T, SPC, Gage R&R, and gage useCMM Operation after programs and set up are establishedUnderstanding of weld / assembly validation (cut and etch, push-out, torque, tensile test, etc..)APQP, PPAP, MSA, Core ToolsThorough understanding of Problem Solving and Root Cause AnalysisDetail oriented and able to work with minimal supervisionDemonstrate strong leadership abilities.Demonstrate and model Hands-on, involved, Go-See approachHighly organizedStrong Interpersonal communication skillsWill have the ability to work schedule that allows completion of the job on a daily basis Language Skills:Able to clearly communicate in verbal or written forms and act as a liaison between Production and QualityAbility to speak and write in the primary language of the Company facility of employment Computer/Software:Computer (PC) and Microsoft OfficeShopEdgeQCBDMinitabPC DMISCustomer Portals Training:Internal auditingAutomotive Core ToolsCMM operationFundamentals of IATF 16949Other Baseline items About Cameron Craig Group
