CORPORATE PLANNING & PURCHASING SPECIALIST (NTN DRIVESHAFT
NTN, a world leader in constant velocity technology for the
automotive industry, is currently seeking a qualified CORPORATE
PLANNING & PURCHASING SPECIALIST for our Anderson, Indiana
operation. NTN Anderson manufactures Constant Velocity Joints
(CVJs) for many of the major OEM automotive companies.
Responsible for program costing, purchasing, and reporting
activities, including program quotations, management of supplier
data, and interfacing with suppliers. This role also includes
producing reports as needed for management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs program costing analysis for potential future programs,
including supplier selection, submitting RFQ to suppliers,
analyzing prices, gathering part drawings, tooling estimates,
feasibility studies, and submitting a quotation package for final
Manages purchase prices in the system for all components, including
registering prices in the system, maintaining records of price
change notifications, updating the purchase cost master, and
communicating changes to related departments.
Provides monthly reports to management, including sales,
production, inventory, and royalties calculations and ad hoc
reports as needed.
Maintains the supplier master list for direct material suppliers,
including main supplier contacts, addresses, and ISO/TS
Maintains supplier portal access for approved suppliers.
Creates and submits certificate of origin for each NDA product,
including gathering supplier certificates, downloading BOM
information, calculating regional value content using NAFTA
Submits initial purchase orders for production events in
coordination with the Production Control Department and follows up
Performs supplier performance analysis in coordination with the
Production Control and Quality Departments.
Participates in supplier visits, meetings, negotiations, and cost
Leads the initial kickoff meeting for new programs, including
summaries of the event schedule, component lists, and tooling
Submits capacity and other information in customer tracking systems
Assists other departments in communicating issues and working with
suppliers as needed.
Tracks NDA owned tooling at supplier and supports bailment
agreements with suppliers.
Initiates award letters to suppliers as tool go letters are
received from NAC.
Tracks customer owned tooling in conjunction with Engineering.
Reviews and checks capacity yearly at suppliers and during tool gos
Follows up with suppliers to gather conflict minerals report yearly
and rolls information into NDA conflict minerals report.
Reviews supply chain in regards to disaster proximity and reports
to management potential issues.
Investigates potential new/back up suppliers as required and works
with Quality/Engineering to get them approved.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in a related field preferred or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Strong computer and math skills, experience with Microsoft
Experience with JD Edwards a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation
Ability to work well cross-functionally and communicate with
internal and external parties.
Ability to organize, plan, allocate resources and prioritize in
order to meet multiple overlapping and competing deadlines and
Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to
collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions and recommend
effective corrective action.
Strong attention to detail.
Strict attention to safety.
Japanese language skills a plus but not required.
Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or in a
multi-cultural environment a plus.
