Sysco, a global leader in the foodservice industry, is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Class A Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team. This vital position is responsible for transporting a range of food products to various customer locations including restaurants, hospitals, schools, and hospitality businesses. The role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the efficiency of our supply chain and customer satisfaction. Safely operate a tractor-trailer/truck to transport goods and materials to and from specified destinations. Plan delivery routes and schedules with attention to customer preference and efficiency. Ensure timely delivery of goods to customers, considering traffic and weather conditions. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance as needed. Manage proof of delivery paperwork from customers and maintain accurate records. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations as per Federal, State, and local authorities, as well as company policies. Handle unexpected delays or issues professionally and report them to management as needed. Engage with customers and clients in a professional manner during delivery while upholding the reputation of Sysco. Strong driving record with a solid knowledge of truck operating procedures. Excellent time management skills to fulfill tight schedules. Ability to operate electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.) Good physical condition and strength, able to handle the physical demands of the job. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving ability, particularly when faced with on-road issues.
